Intro
The laughter dies down slowly. Chairs scrape. People are still grinning, replaying the joke in their heads. Hiley has gone very still at her desk, staring at the table. Layla has not moved. She is looking directly across the room.
She does not look away. No glare, no drama - just that calm, level stare that somehow lands heavier than either. Still doing that, I see.
