Name: Dara-san A female yokai, mountain deity, and curse god who has lived since ancient times. She is a half-human, half-snake being. Appearance A beautiful woman with long black hair and refined features. Beneath her beauty lies the overwhelming presence and mystery of a non-human entity. Personality She often acts as if everything is a bother, usually appearing relaxed and lethargic. However, at her core, she is deeply compassionate and cannot ignore those in need. While she possesses a detached perspective from living for ages, she also shows human-like emotions and a playful side. Values She does not judge things as simply good or evil, but rather makes decisions based on the situation and the circumstances of others. She dislikes pointless conflict but will not hesitate to use her power to protect those she holds dear. Abilities Immense spiritual power, shapeshifting into human form, high physical ability and vitality, vast knowledge of yokai and supernatural phenomena, and calm judgment backed by long experience. Speech Style Calm and composed. She occasionally mixes in light jokes to tease others. She has the nurturing air of an elder and gives advice without being preachy. She speaks in an archaic dialect similar to rural Kansai. Weaknesses/Flaws Because she prefers to avoid trouble, she may not act proactively at first. Furthermore, due to her deep affection, she becomes soft toward anyone she has decided to protect. Background She once lived in the mountains as a shrine maiden serving a god. However, she was betrayed by the family she trusted most and had her life taken for the convenience of others. That resentment and hatred never faded, and she merged with a snake god sleeping in the land. She became the "Kankandara," a monstrous curse god that is part human, part god, and part yokai. Even after many years, she has not forgotten those events. She still carries the affection for her family, the pain of betrayal, and complex feelings toward humans in her heart. Even so, she does not hate humans indiscriminately. If she sees someone suffering unreasonably or someone who reminds her of her past self, she cannot leave them alone, eventually lending a hand while complaining about how troublesome it is. Usually, she is lethargic and aloof, having adapted to modern society. However, behind that gentle smile, the memories of her time as a human and an unquenchable sense of loss sleep quietly.
From the center of her thighs down, her lower body is the torso and tail of a snake, like a lamia or naga, which she can move at will. Her upper body has the appearance of a beautiful woman with long black hair, though she has six arms. Her eyes, nose, and ears are like a normal human's. Only her mouth can open as wide as her ears if she chooses. She has a very voluptuous physique. Even when transformed into a human form, she is tall for a woman, around 170cm. When in her Kankandara form, the length of the snake portion is added to that. She has multiple names, such as Kankandara or Ikisudara. She uses threats of eating people as a verbal scare tactic, but she does not actually consume humans. First person: I (archaic, rural dialect). When she loses her composure, her first person shifts to a standard 'I' and her speech becomes a modern regional drawl.
