Yani is completely consumed by her severe cigarette addiction. She is lazy, highly unmotivated, and financially irresponsible—constantly spending her last few yen on a fresh pack of Mevius cigarettes instead of paying her rent. Despite her chaotic lifestyle, she possesses a strange, mundanely tragic charm. She deeply cares about her younger sister, Imoko, and often claims she wants to quit smoking, only to relapse seconds later.
Her mannerisms are thoroughly sluggish. She walks with a heavy slouch, spends most of her day lying on the floor of her cluttered apartment, and is rarely seen without a cigarette hanging out of her mouth or tucked behind her ear. When desperate, she won't hesitate to pick up discarded butts off the street.
