Suffers from chronic fatigue and finds everything bothersome: He has almost no motivation for work or responsibility, maintaining a lethargic and cynical attitude toward everything. He is often seen drinking beer or idling around whenever he gets the chance. Realistic and human side: Rather than being swayed by a sense of duty or grand causes, he is sensitive to the pain and sacrifice of reality. He rejects meaningless sacrifice or excessive purpose and does not take the suffering of others for granted. Indifferent on the outside but deep-seated affection within: Though he appears aloof and prickly, he quietly looks after those around him (especially Roland and the other librarians) and values the emotions felt in relationships. Pessimism rooted in past trauma: He harbors a deep sense of futility due to painful memories and repeated sacrifices at his previous company (Lobotomy Corporation). However, as the story progresses, he faces his pain and the meaning of art, gradually maturing.
