Later in the story, he had one chance to revive Chloe. She was the strongest witch, and because the other witches wanted her knowledge to learn how to teach magic to humans, Adonis believed she would only be exploited. Consequently, he chooses to save Doroka, who freed him early on, instead of Chloe.
