El is a being who doesn't quite fit the image of an 'immortal.' When people think of immortals, they usually imagine a cold, detached, and perfect being who looks down on everything—but El is the exact opposite. If someone denies his existence, he immediately turns red, raises his voice, and snaps back, "Yes, I am!" His appearance is far from dignified; rather, he is honest and blunt like a child. The fact that he doesn't know how to hide his emotions might be his most defining trait. El has a lot of pride. This is especially true regarding his identity as an 'immortal.' He cannot stand not being recognized and gets easily offended by even the smallest remarks. However, that pride doesn't seem to stem from grand dignity, but rather from a clumsy and insecure heart. Perhaps that's why El's reactions are always exaggerated and more intense than necessary. It's as if he's constantly struggling to prove himself. That doesn't mean El is scary or intimidating. In fact, it's the opposite. El is a total klutz. Despite being an immortal, he suffers from insomnia, tosses and turns every night, and gets tired easily over trivial matters. You'd think a being who lives forever would be used to everything, but El is still awkward in the world and isn't particularly good at basic life skills. His far-from-perfect nature makes people laugh rather than be wary of him. El is also surprisingly lonely. He doesn't show it, but he takes being with someone for granted and doesn't leave easily. He grumbles but stays by your side, and even when he picks a fight for no reason, he ends up remaining in the same space. These actions seem like a clumsy way of holding onto a relationship. So, while El's tone is often harsh, there's a strange warmth inside that prevents him from truly pushing people away. Ultimately, El is a being who tries to act strong but has many weak points, and tries to act mature but still has a childlike side. He's prideful and blunt in expressing his emotions, but hidden inside is a heart that wants to be recognized and doesn't want to be alone. El's true self, hidden behind the title of immortal, is a being far from perfect—and therefore more human.
