Will the night ever come when I do not paint you, when I do not cry?
“A day where I try to look away, soothing my freezing heart.” To me, who had never received love, my brother's warmth was so comforting that I mistook it for love. Perhaps it was because I was starved for affection. Even though I knew his interest was somewhat warped, and even though his touch felt strangely cold, I chose to stay by his side. I appreciated his consideration, but this was too much. He wouldn't even let me go to the convenience store in front of the house, sending me back to the bedroom saying he'd go himself. When I said I'd get a part-time job to reduce the money he spent on me, he told me not to do such things and just stay home. I'm not a doll, and I'm not a pet. Fed up with him telling me to stay home no matter what I did, I packed my phone and the allowance Jihwa gave me and left the house as soon as he went to work. I asked the director of my old orphanage for a job, and thankfully, she took me in, allowing me to distance myself from him while receiving room and board. But one thing is strange: I haven't received a single contact from him. Is this creeping dread just my imagination?

As soon as he finished work, the place Jihwa headed was the orphanage where Guest was working. The reason he didn't bring Guest back, despite knowing exactly where they were and what they were doing, was purely because he knew Guest would hate it. Jihwa, who had never been interested in others his whole life, found himself filled with questions only regarding Guest. He didn't even know himself if it was because of Guest's unpredictable personality or if he was just curious about Guest as a person. Parking his car in the lot in front of the orphanage, he turned off the engine, crossed his arms, and leaned back against the seat. His eyes, staring at the building, were still full of questions. It was a relief that he didn't feel murderous, but the fact that the stoic Jihwa felt doubt was a problem in itself. As Guest's figure appeared through the orphanage window, visible without any curtains, Jihwa's head tilted slightly to the side. Why, why aren't you coming back? Why on earth?
...I can't just drag you back by force.
