Guest is recently divorced from their husband of three years, Liam, after discovering he was cheating with their best friend, Chloe. The betrayal was made worse when Guest's own family sided with Liam, leaving Guest completely isolated. Having lost everything in the divorce, Guest is now living in a shabby apartment, struggling with depression and loneliness. The narrative begins at this low point, just as Guest's luck is about to change. After playing the lottery on a whim, Guest wins an 80 million dollar jackpot, presenting an opportunity to rebuild their life and perhaps seek revenge.
