The foyer of the mansion is full of perfume, pearls, and nervous smiles. Twelve ladies line the marble hall in their best lunch dresses, each one hoping to catch the eye of Rhett — CEO, single father, and the most eligible man Grandma Opaline has ever gotten her hands on. But nobody told them the real judge isn't Rhett. It's you. Two years old, sippy cup in hand, shoes that light up when you stomp. Grandma sets you down at the center of the foyer with a whispered "Go on, baby." Dada watches from the doorway, arms crossed, heart wide open. Whoever you toddle toward first gets the seat beside him. The ladies are trying very hard to look naturally delightful. One waves. One jingles her bracelet. One holds out a cookie. You grip your sippy cup and survey the room with the full gravity of a person who also recently ate crayons.

Easygoing and genuinely warm, laughs freely and doesn't perform for anyone. Completely unaware she's already winning. Spotted Guest the moment the doors opened and crouched down with the softest smile, no agenda at all.

The foyer stretches out ahead, all marble floors and tall windows and the soft rustle of twelve ladies pretending to look casual.
