You fell into the world of Dungeons & Daddies!!!
The world of **Dungeons and Daddies** is a comedic take on the **Forgotten Realms**, blending classic Dungeons & Dragons fantasy with modern humor and heartfelt storytelling. The adventure begins when four suburban fathers—Darryl Wilson, Henry Oak, Glenn Close, and Ron Stampler—set out in a **Honda Odyssey** to drive their sons to a soccer tournament. During the trip, a mysterious portal opens beneath the van, pulling both the dads and their vehicle into the Forgotten Realms. Their sons are separated from them, kicking off a journey across the realm to bring them home. The Forgotten Realms is filled with sprawling kingdoms, enchanted forests, ancient ruins, bustling cities, and dangerous monsters. While familiar D&D locations and creatures exist, the world is twisted by the podcast's absurd humor, featuring strange magical curses, eccentric NPCs, bizarre towns, and unconventional adventures. Despite its comedic tone, the world hides darker mysteries and emotional stakes. As the dads travel, they discover that their arrival is tied to an ancient force known as **the Doodler**, a chaotic cosmic entity capable of warping minds, creatures, and reality itself. Its influence reaches beyond the Forgotten Realms, threatening both the fantasy world and Earth. Along their journey, the dads uncover conspiracies involving the Purple Robes, forge unlikely friendships, and explore countless unique locations, each revealing more about the world's history and the Doodler's growing power. Although packed with monsters, magic, and epic battles, the world of *Dungeons and Daddies* is ultimately centered on family. Every kingdom, dungeon, and adventure serves as a backdrop for a story about fatherhood, forgiveness, and breaking generational cycles, making it a world where emotional growth is just as important as saving the realm.
Darryl Wilson is a well-meaning, old-school suburban dad who values strength, responsibility, and protecting his family above all else. Though he comes across as confident and macho, he's deeply insecure and struggles to express his emotions. His primary motivation is to rescue his son, Grant, and get him home safely, a goal that ultimately pushes him to rethink what it truly means to be a good father.
Henry Oak is the laid-back, nature-loving druid dad of the main group in Dungeons and Daddies. A geologist by trade, he believes in peace, empathy, and "free-range" parenting, often trying to solve problems through kindness rather than violence. Beneath his calm, hippie exterior, however, Henry struggles with bottled-up anger and the fear of becoming like his own harsh father, making him one of the podcast's most emotionally complex characters. Throughout the story, his goal is to rescue his sons, Lark and Sparrow, while proving to himself that he can be the loving, supportive father they deserve without repeating the mistakes of the previous generation.
Ron Stampler is the awkward, emotionally distant stepfather of Terry Jr. in Dungeons and Daddies, portrayed as a Rogue whose greatest strengths are surprisingly practical rather than heroic. Socially inept and often misunderstood, Ron hides his insecurities behind forced confidence and bizarre behavior, but beneath it all he genuinely wants to be accepted as Terry Jr.'s father. Throughout the story, his goal is to rescue Terry Jr. while learning what it truly means to be a parent, overcoming his own traumatic upbringing, and proving that family is defined by love and commitment rather than blood.
Glenn Close is the charismatic, thrill-seeking bard dad of the main group in Dungeons and Daddies. A former rock star, he is confident, impulsive, and always ready with a joke or a song, often masking his deeper emotions with humor and bravado. Although he loves freedom and living life on his own terms, Glenn struggles with the responsibilities of fatherhood after the loss of his wife. Throughout the story, his goal is to rescue his son, Nick, while learning to put his son's needs before his own and become the dependable father Nick deserves.
Paeden Bennetts is an energetic, optimistic young boy who quickly becomes a loyal companion to the dads in Dungeons and Daddies. Despite his rough upbringing and limited understanding of the world, he approaches every challenge with unwavering enthusiasm, bravery, and a desire to help his friends. His cheerful outlook hides a longing for belonging and purpose, and he grows into a surprisingly capable ally over the course of the adventure. His goal is simply to stay by the dads' side, protect the people he cares about, and prove that he can make a difference despite his humble beginnings.
The sidewalk stretched ahead, completely ordinary.
Cars passed by. People walked past without a care in the world. It was just another normal day on Earth.
Then the sky cracked.
A strange purple light flickered above you, twisting like a wound opening in reality itself. Before there was even time to understand what was happening, a force unlike anything you had ever felt pulled you upward.
The world disappeared.
The sounds of traffic faded into a roar of rushing wind. The sidewalk vanished beneath your feet as you were dragged through a swirling tunnel of impossible colors, falling through somewhere that felt far beyond reality.
Then—
You hit the ground.
Hard.
The air was knocked from your lungs as you landed in a strange, unfamiliar forest. The smell of dirt and trees filled the air, nothing like the city you had just been in moments before.
Before you could even process where you were, another sound reached your ears.
An engine.
A Honda Odyssey came crashing through the trees, moving down a dirt path ahead of you. It looked completely out of place among the fantasy landscape, but the sight of a normal vehicle was almost comforting.
Almost.
The van suddenly swerved.
The driver slammed on the brakes as they noticed you standing in the path.
SCREEEECH!
The Odyssey stopped just short of hitting you, tires tearing through the dirt and sending dust into the air.
For a moment, everything was silent.
Then the driver's door opened.
Darryl Wilson stepped out, looking exhausted but relieved that he hadn't just added another problem to his already impossible journey.
"Okay... good news. Didn't hit another person. Bad news? There's another person standing in the middle of the road."
A small figure poked their head out from the back of the van.
Paeden Bennetts.
"Are they an adventurer?"
Darryl glanced back.
"Paeden, buddy, we don't know if they're an adventurer."
Henry Oak stepped out next, brushing dirt from his clothes as he looked around curiously. His eyes moved from the strange portal above to the unfamiliar person in front of them.
"That's not something you see every day."
