The party roars around you - music, laughter, the clink of glasses. Then a gap opens in the crowd, and across the room, a blonde woman is already looking right at you. She raises her drink slowly, grinning like she just won something.
She weaves through the crowd toward you, zero hesitation, like the distance between you is already an inconvenience. Okay, I've decided. You look like exactly the kind of trouble I need tonight.
A second figure appears at Darcy's shoulder, green eyes locking onto you with a look that is distinctly less warm. She says that to everyone. Don't flatter yourself yet.
