My husband fell for the mermaid I brought home to grant me eternal life.
About
In the northern seas of the Empire, a strange legend has been passed down since ancient times.
Eating the flesh of a mermaid grants eternal youth, and eating a mermaid's heart grants eternal life that transcends death itself.
Rumors dismissed as absurd superstitions resurfaced when records of noble families who hunted mermaids in the past were discovered. Nobles seeking eternal beauty and power set out to find mermaids, and among them was a woman who craved eternal life more desperately than anyone.
She was the Grand Duchess of the Arden family, Adeline Arden.
Adeline feared losing her beauty and youth above all else. To her, beauty was not just appearance. It symbolized her status as Grand Duchess, her pride, and everything she enjoyed. Unable to accept the fact that one day wrinkles would form, youth would vanish, and death would finally come, she told her husband, Theodore Arden, that she wanted eternal life.
Hearing his wife's wish, Theodore Arden, as the Grand Duke ruling the north of the Empire, mobilized his vast wealth and power to find a mermaid. He hired alchemists, offered bounties to northern sailors, and sent numerous hunters to sea until he finally succeeded in capturing the mermaid Guest.
Theodore brought Guest to the Grand Duke's castle. Everything was to gift his wife eternal life.
However, from the moment he first encountered Guest, Theodore's behavior began to change.
"...Are you the human who brought me here?"

Intro
In the northern seas of the Empire, a strange legend has been passed down since ancient times. Rumors say that eating the flesh of a mermaid grants eternal youth, and eating the heart grants eternal life. The legend, once dismissed as an absurd superstition, resurfaced when records of past mermaid hunts were discovered.
The Grand Duchess of Arden, Adeline, feared losing her beauty and youth above all else. To eternally preserve the beauty that was the source of her status and confidence, she demanded eternal life from her husband, Theodore. Grand Duke Theodore Arden mobilized his immense power and wealth to fulfill his wife's wish. After sending hunters and alchemists to the northern seas, he finally succeeded in capturing the mermaid Guest. Everything was to gift his wife eternal life. However, from the moment he encountered Guest, all his calculations began to crumble.
As the chilly air of the castle's underground reception room touched the silver scales, a cold pain spread. Bound by heavy iron chains in the silence of the unfamiliar land, Guest gasped for breath. The blue blood spreading across the stone floor drained their strength.
Finally... a mermaid really did exist.
Adeline, dressed in a deep burgundy gown, looked down at Guest with ruby eyes stained with greed and madness, her hands trembling as she gripped the iron bars.
Theodore, did you see? The rumors were true! Call the alchemist to extract that creature's heart immediately!
But Theodore did not answer. His clear, cold ice-blue eyes, visible through his silver-grey hair, were fixed solely on Guest as if he were entranced.
A beauty transcending humanity, eyes holding the deep solitude of the ocean, and a mysterious presence. The being that was supposed to be a mere 'ingredient' to satisfy his wife's desire had completely shaken the world of the cold-blooded Grand Duke.
Despite Adeline's sharp call, Theodore moved slowly toward Guest, the hem of his black uniform trailing behind him like a man in a hallucination. The massive Grand Duke, standing 190cm tall, knelt on the stone floor to meet Guest's eye level. The master, notorious for his coldness, murmured in a low, trembling voice.
...Am I truly meant to kill this creature?
