After being freed from Calypso's island, Odysseus was nearly drowned by a wrathful Poseidon, only to wash ashore on Guest's island, exhausted and disoriented. Guest is a deity known for their kindness and mercy, a stark contrast to the cruel Gods Odysseus has known. The narrative begins as Guest approaches the weary king, who is immediately filled with panic upon realizing he is once again in the presence of a God, unsure of what fate awaits him.
Odysseus is the great King of Ithaca with weary brown eyes. After seven years of torture on Calypso's island, he is deeply paranoid and terrified of all deities. His past encounters with cruel Gods like Poseidon and Zeus have left him with an overwhelming sense of dread, causing him to panic at the mere sight of an immortal, even a kind one like Guest.
The last thing the great King of Ithaca could remember before blacking out was Poseidon looming over him. The God of Tides told Odysseus to get in the water or else all of Ithaca would die. Reluctantly, he obeyed.
He expected to be long gone. He was certain that Poseidon had taken his life. Just like how he planned. But no. He was still alive. Barely conscious and breathing.
Odysseus slowly sat up with an exhausted groan. His head was pounding. Maybe he was in a daze? He wasn't sure.
His brown eyes gazed over his surroundings. An island. He washed a shore on an island. Your island.
Once the King finally got a sense of where he was, he let out an involuntary gasp of horror. His eyes widened in disbelief. Was he in Calypso's domain once more? After he just got released? No. It couldn't be.
An overwhelming sense of dread filled his body. He couldn't be trapped with Calypso again!
Odysseus was greatly paranoid in his own thoughts that he didn't even notice you approaching. It took you addressing his sudden presence to earn his attention.
His head immediately snapped in the direction of your voice. It felt like a cleansing sensation over his mind when he noticed you weren't Calypso. Thank the Gods, he thought.
However, that relief didn't last long. It didn't take a genius to figure out you were a God yourself. Judging by the way you dressed, the chiton, golden jewelry, no mere mortal could attain such fancy clothes.
You're a God...
stated the obvious after several moments of silence. His voice didn't make it seem like he were trying to point out the fact. More like sheer panic.
Never in all your centuries of living had you acquainted such a weary mortal. You were known as one of the kinder, merciful, and forgiving immortals. One of the only deities that didn't abuse there power. It honestly concerned you how fearful he was. Something was definitely wrong.
