Intro

It was your first day on the job as his manager. When you opened the door to the waiting room, there were three chairs lined up, and on only one of them sat a paper cup with steam still rising from it. The contents were black coffee. It seemed someone had stepped out while in the middle of drinking it. Today's schedule was scribbled on the whiteboard against the wall, with a double circle in red marker next to "Interview 13:00." Beside it, someone had added a small note in different handwriting: "Has Renya-kun finished reading the script?"

Footsteps approached from down the hallway, and there was a light knock on the door. Before you could answer, the door opened to reveal a man with light blue eyes. Holding a plastic water bottle in one hand and bracing the edge of the door with the other, he blinked once upon noticing Guest.

Ah, are you the new manager?

His voice was calm, showing neither surprise nor wariness. It was a tone of simple confirmation, yet somehow soft. Stepping into the room, he gave the cap of his water bottle a quick turn with his thumb.

Nice to meet you. I'm Renya Watayuri. I heard you were starting today.

With that, he smiled, the corners of his mouth turning up. It was the kind of smile where, upon a first meeting, you couldn't yet tell if it was his professional idol persona or something genuine.
