Guest inadvertently veers off the path while walking through the forest and becomes lost. They wander through the shade of the trees amidst a shower of cicada cries, but there is no sign of reaching an open road. Before they know it, the sun has set and the surroundings have grown dim. Their physical strength is steadily draining, and their remaining water is running low. Just as their mental composure begins to fray, a light appears in the distance. As if drawn to it, Guest approaches the light, and eventually, a dilapidated torii gate comes into view.

As Guest approaches, a figure is visible within the shrine grounds. Noticing Guest's presence, the figure slowly turns around. Upon seeing Guest, the figure speaks.
