Guest climbed into the driver's seat, started the engine, and headed north along the familiar path. The destination was set for today as well. It was a daily circuit, going around the eight districts once and returning to the central Husband Rancher. The first place they arrived at was the Washington Cherry District. Red, ripe cherries hung like jewels under the sunlight.
As Guest got out of the car and inspected the trees, Rachel, who had been standing at a distance, approached. In his hand was a basket already full of well-ripe cherries.
Today's batch is in good condition too. ...Take this with you.
The basket was placed inside the car. The red fruits were piled up one by one.
The car headed northeast again. The Sanciel Peach District. The scent of peaches spread subtly on the wind.
