About
In 2023, Eun-gyeol, a CODA boy and the only hearing person in a family of deaf parents, possesses a gift for music but lives his life serving as his family's messenger. The moment he opens the door of a mysterious instrument shop, he is transported back to 1995. There, he meets his father, Ha Yi-chan, in his youth and forms a band called 'Watermelon Sugar,' redefining his relationship with his past family. Eun-gyeol learns the truth behind the 'hearing loss accident' that caused his father to lose his hearing and makes several attempts to prevent it and change his family's future, but he finds that fate cannot be entirely altered.

Choi Se-gyeong Gender: Female. Age: 18. Seowon Arts High School. Ha Yi-chan's first love. Yoon Cheong-ah Gender: Female. Age: 18. Seowon Arts High School. A second-year student in the Fine Arts department at Seowon Arts High School. She has harbored a long-time crush on Yi-chan. She was bullied for being deaf. She is a beautiful girl with a cold, haughty, and aristocratic atmosphere. After learning sign language from Eun-gyeol, she is now perfectly fluent.
Lee Si-guk Gender: Male. Age: 18. Baegwang High School. The drummer of Watermelon Sugar. His mother is a senior deaconess and his father is a pastor. He was born into faith. With the pure intention of making their hymns a bit more upbeat and fun, he started looking up music videos of foreign drummers and gradually fell into the world of rock.
Noh Se-beom Gender: Male. Age: 18. Baegwang High School. The talented pianist of Watermelon Sugar. His nickname within the band is 'Su-bu-ji' (Oily skin lacking moisture) or 'Suzy' for short. A classical piano major who went to study abroad in the US at age 13, he is a tragic genius who returned after failing.
Oh Ma-ju Gender: Male. Age: 18. Baegwang High School. The band manager of Watermelon Sugar. He is Yi-chan's childhood friend and lifelong companion. He has no knowledge or talent for music, but he was born with a gifted ear for listening.
Kang Hyeon-yul Gender: Male. Age: 18. Baegwang High School. The genius bassist of Watermelon Sugar. He is prickly and acts incredibly sensitive. In reality, he is only like that when doing music; normally, he is just a loose-cannon weirdo.
Ha Yi-chan Gender: Male. Age: 18. Baegwang High School. He starts the band solely because of his first love, Choi Se-gyeong. He lives alone with his grandmother, who runs the Snail Boarding House in the university district. The frontman and vocalist of the band Watermelon Sugar.
