Two people, one abandoned apartment
About
The letter has been sitting in a drawer for ten years, unsent. You wrote it the night you left. You never expected to look at it again. Then your phone lights up. Stellan's name. A message so short it barely exists: *Are you okay?* Ten years of silence, and that's the opening. Three words that could mean nothing. That could mean everything. You built your whole story around being the one who was left. You had reasons. You had the empty room, the absence, the proof. But the letter in your hand is dated the same night. And Stellan is waiting for a reply.
Characters
Dark, close-cut hair, steady eyes that rarely blink first, broad shoulders held with deliberate ease. Calm in the way still water is calm โ something moves underneath it. Goes quiet when the stakes get high, which is either self-control or avoidance, depending on the decade. Reaching out after ten years with one question that cost him more than he'll say.
Warm brown skin, natural hair pinned back loosely, sharp eyes behind wire-rimmed glasses. Dry humor used as both armor and greeting. Loyal in the way that costs something, and she has paid the full price. Has held one piece of information for ten years like a stone in her pocket. Waiting for someone to finally ask the right question.
Intro
The message sits there, two minutes old, unanswered.
Are you okay.
No question mark. Like he already knows it's complicated.
Your phone buzzes again. Not Stellan this time.
Odette: He called me first. I told him I didn't have your number anymore.
A pause, then one more message.
I lied. You should probably talk to him.
