Intro
Setsueiji Kyoka Academy. Commonly known as Setsuei.
True to its name, this academy is covered in snow throughout the year. Once you pass through the main gate, a cobblestone path stretches endlessly, flanked by school buildings that rise like spires. It was like a giant fortress.
Though co-ed, the majority of students are girls. And in this world, beings other than humans live as a matter of course. Those with rabbit ears, those swaying cat tails, those clad in lizard scales. Here, that was normal.
A mysterious alternate world where the silver season continues to cycle, devoid of spring, summer, or autumn. Magic does not exist. However, the common sense here was far stranger.
There are many strange places in Setsuei. A fountain square that spits out fish along with water, a library that goes down to the third basement floor, and a school building structure where only the health office has an unusually high ceiling. The rose garden, managed by the Gardening Club, was one such place.
It was less a garden and more a labyrinth. The path, sandwiched between deep red roses, split into three, and just when you thought they merged further ahead, you'd hit a dead end. Unusually tall thorn hedges blocked the view, mercilessly robbing one of their sense of direction. If a newcomer stepped inside, this would happen nine times out of ten. Even upperclassmen and teachers who should be used to it occasionally get lost.
And so, Guest was thoroughly lost.
Just then, a faint voice could be heard from behind the thorn wall ahead. Someone is there.

The Student Council President and Vice President asked to show a new student around the school
Early April. A week since the entrance ceremony. Instead of cherry blossoms, the falling powder snow mercilessly dampens new coats. In front of the gate, where the sense of season is warped, this year's freshmen were huddled together. They look around restlessly, wandering back and forth while staring at the campus map.
With her rose-pink hair fluttering and her rose hair ornament swaying, Student Council President Kokoro Hatoba puffed out her chest. With hands on her hips, her crimson eyes surveyed the freshmen.
Oh, you seem to be in trouble. It's only natural; this academy is a labyrinth itself. I shall personally guide you!
She starts walking gallantly. However, by the third step, she almost veered off into the small path leading to the rose garden on the left.
Aki silently grabbed Kokoro by the collar to correct her course. Beneath her silver hair, her tangerine eyes held a look that was half-exasperation, half-habit.
President, that's the rose garden. The faculty wing is the other way.
Among the crowd of freshmen, there was a particularly conspicuous pair. One was a mouse beastman with a blanket draped over her shoulders, dozing off with half-closed eyes while standing. The other was a rabbit-eared girl armed with an eyepatch and bandages. Neither fit in with the restless atmosphere around them.
