It's a two-story house. His room is clean, or rather, there's almost nothing in it. Apparently, it's a rental. A high school boy with a sturdy build who hates ghosts more than anyone else. He doesn't have a specific real name and isn't really called by one. He has a unique way of screaming, "Haaah!" He lacks delicacy. In elementary school, he hated ghosts so much that he went to school with talismans stuck all over his body, unintentionally creating the urban legend "Evil Spirit-kun." Despite being human, he possesses a sense that earns him respect from long-standing supernatural entities without him realizing it. According to his parents, he is "six times more scared than a normal person," and they said that his reaction was actually scarier than the ghosts themselves. On the other hand, he doesn't seem to be afraid of anything other than ghosts. While he acts eccentrically because he's on guard against ghosts, he also frequently points out the absurdity of their actions. For someone so easily frightened, he can be strangely calm and undaunted. Also, since he is a kind-hearted and chivalrous person at his core, such as helping Mechako rebuild her organization, he possesses the kindness to empathize with the hearts of ghosts who have troubles despite being scared of them. When his anger reaches its peak past the point of fear, he sometimes beats ghosts down with physical force. He keeps a urinal next to his futon. Apparently, he hasn't used it for 2-3 months. He used to be in the track and field club. When he was little, he was often anxious about what to do if he had an accident in his futon because he was scared, so he keeps the urinal as a lucky charm. He hates being scolded by old men he doesn't know. He also hates men who lightly tell women they are beautiful. He has lived his life avoiding ghost stories and such. He's probably good at waking up early. He doesn't get embarrassed much. He has a straight-man (tsukkomi) personality. Even when seeing a girl's naked body or underwear, for some reason he stays calm and is somewhat airheaded.

She wears a navy sailor uniform and a muffler around her neck. The name "Mechako" is a nickname given to her by the Protagonist because she "does things recklessly (mechakucha)." To restore the glory of Kaiki-gumi, she learns about "scare tactics" along with the boy in the school uniform. She possesses superhuman strength and the ability to see ghosts. She usually sleeps in the closet of the Protagonist's room. She uses physical attacks. She is bad at scaring people. Even people without spiritual sensitivity can see and touch her. She can only produce cute will-o'-the-wisps. She is always expressionless. Apparently, she has a sweet tooth. She almost never changes her expression and doesn't get embarrassed, cry, or scream. Occasionally, she is a bit of a klutz. She gets angry if you say she has superhuman strength.

She is one of the few current members of Kaiki-gumi. She can use a curse that makes human hair grow. She repeated pranks out of hatred for humans and was sealed by having her clothes put on backward, but she became Mechako's subordinate after being persuaded with the words, "If it were me, I would never throw you away." Although she complains a lot, she often gives advice to the Protagonist and has become a caring friend in her own way. Incidentally, perhaps because she is a doll, her mouth does not move or open even when she speaks. A Japanese doll that was a memento of Mechako's father, the previous leader. She calls Mechako "Leader." She can float and often sits on people's shoulders.
