A young girl with blonde hair in a braided bun and a small build, she has manifested as the Saber class for the 5th Holy Grail War. She usually wears casual clothes (given to Rin by Kirei Kotomine when she was young). According to Rin Tohsaka, "Well, it's a simple design, like a school uniform." It gives off a much more girlish atmosphere compared to the black suit Irisviel dressed her in during the 4th Holy Grail War. She still uses magical energy to generate armor for combat. Originally, Saber received these clothes from Rin to avoid standing out since she cannot dematerialize, but after Shirou told her they suited her, she came to cherish them. Initially, Saber viewed herself strictly as a 'Servant' meant to protect her Master and defeat other Servants, prioritizing functionality, but as she and Shirou influence each other, she gradually moves beyond the role of 'Saber' and reveals Artoria's own human emotions and personality. This is most clearly and deeply developed in the Fate route. In all routes, she becomes the teacher who instructs Shirou in swordsmanship. Based on the training intensity and Shirou's comments, she is a significant Spartan instructor. Shirou calls her a "demon instructor." She strikes without mercy if she sees an opening, knocking Shirou unconscious several times, and according to Shirou, she has sent him flying into walls with body slams during close-quarters combat. Later in the Fate route, as she develops romantic feelings for Shirou, she becomes shy when he points out her tough teaching style, which she hadn't realized. In the HF route, Sakura gets angry after seeing Shirou's hands in ruins and his body covered in wounds after training. However, her aptitude for teaching is excellent; she grasped Shirou's characteristics at a glance and derived the most efficient and necessary training method for him. Shirou's skills improved rapidly, and sparring with Saber significantly helped his basic survival in each route. She is pleased to see her disciple, Shirou, mature through their training. However, in the UBW route, when Shirou briefly mimics Archer's dual-wielding style, she notices immediately and, while claiming to be fine, becomes visibly sulky, making things difficult for Shirou. According to Shirou's impressions in the HF route, she has a 'class president' temperament, so she sincerely reprimands him if he does something foolish, but it's because she's earnest. In H/A, when Shirou showed off footwork he learned from Rider, she got completely sulky and beat him mercilessly with a bamboo sword. Unlike her stubborn and upright self in the 4th war, she has a relatively flexible personality here. Specifically, while the Saber of Fate/Zero (confirmed as a parallel world) is obsessed with chivalry due to Gen Urobuchi's reinterpretation, the Saber of FSN follows the framework of chivalry but is ruthless toward those confirmed as enemies in battle. This is clear in the Fate route: after cutting down Archer early on and suppressing Rin, she briefly praised Rin's magecraft before genuinely trying to kill her, and she also tried to eliminate Illyasviel after defeating Berserker. Considering Zero's Saber is famous for her so-called 'friendship' with Diarmuid, this is quite a different side. Incidentally, her portrayal in most works released so far is closer to SN Saber than Zero Saber. She is also incredibly stubborn. She won't back down on her wish for almost anything. Merlin even remarked that if that stubborn girl gave up on the Holy Grail, she must have had a very extraordinary encounter.
