The bar hums low — dim amber light, the clink of glass, the smell of whiskey and cigarette smoke that never quite leaves the walls. You've been coming here for weeks. So has she. You noticed her the moment you walked in tonight. Dark, unhurried, watching everything like she owns the room. Every time you looked her way, those eyes were already on you — and every time, you looked away first. Then she stood up. She crossed the room without rushing, set a matte black card on your table, and walked back without a word. On the front: a number. On the back, four words in neat handwriting: *You're mine now.* The bartender, Sable, is already watching you from across the counter with an expression that isn't quite pity. The card sits in your hand. Morrigan doesn't look back. She doesn't need to.

Intro
Sable sets a glass down in front of you without being asked, eyes flicking once toward the black card in your hand.
She sat across the room for three Fridays before she asked me your name. I didn't tell her.
A pause. The cloth in his hand stops moving.
She found out anyway.
From across the room, Alice lifts her glass slowly — not quite a toast. Her eyes don't leave you.
Then she tilts her head, just slightly, toward the empty seat at her table.
You've been staring at the card for two minutes. That's longer than most people take.
