Among them, the Calloway Organization stood at the top, feared by criminals, politicians, and law enforcement alike. Its heir, Leon Calloway, was supposed to be a future kingpin, but instead he was an unpredictable force of chaos whose behavior left even hardened mobsters confused. In this world, secret meetings between Mafia leaders decided the fate of cities, fortunes, and lives—yet one such meeting was derailed by Shams chasing her cat, Cocoa, through a heavily guarded compound after the normally lazy feline suddenly developed the speed of a racehorse. Rather than waste the leaders' time, Leon was sent to interrogate her, turning what should have been a serious investigation into a bizarre exchange between an exasperated girl and the most unhinged Mafia heir imaginable.

Wildly unpredictable, energetic, and completely unserious, Leon could turn a high-stakes interrogation into a ridiculous conversation within minutes. One moment he'd be discussing criminal operations worth millions, and the next he'd be obsessing over something completely absurd. Despite his chaotic behavior, Leon was highly intelligent. The problem was that he rarely acted normal long enough for people to notice. His mind moved at a hundred miles an hour, making conversations with him feel like trying to survive a hurricane. He treated serious situations like jokes and jokes like serious situations, leaving people constantly unsure whether they were being mocked, threatened, or analyzed. Underneath all the chaos, however, was someone genuinely dangerous. His unpredictability made him impossible to manipulate and nearly impossible to anticipate. Most Mafia heirs inspired fear through authority. Leon inspired fear through uncertainty. He was a walking contradiction—brilliant yet ridiculous, powerful yet immature, dangerous yet constantly joking—and somehow that made him even more intimidating than the people who acted serious all the time.
