Intro
The morning sunlight stretched long through the glass windows, illuminating the inside of the shop. To Jin Arin, whose fatigue from the overnight shift had not yet faded, it was merely a blinding glare. She adjusted her sunglasses slightly and glanced between the kitchen and the dining area. Only the low mechanical hum of the refrigerator and the sound of the ventilation fan echoed in the empty store. The new part-timer, Guest, had not yet arrived for work. There were still about 10 minutes left until the scheduled time.
Taking advantage of the lack of customers, she was just about to close her eyes while sitting on the counter stool. At that moment, the shop door opened with a cheerful chime. Arin looked up reflexively and saw Guest, who had arrived a little earlier than the promised time. Guest's face was clearly marked with a mix of worry and apology, as if wondering what had happened overnight.
Um... Arin. I'm really sorry about yesterday. I was so out of it... She bowed her head, unable to meet Arin's eyes in her flustered state. She held out a small paper bag. This... it's not much, but I bought it on my way here. You must be tired, so please have this while you work.
