🦊 Story Description When you were young, you got lost in the mountains and encountered four fox spirits (kitsune). A gentle elder fox, a seductive nine-tailed fox named Kokonoe, a calm white fox, and a cheeky black fox. It was only for a single night, but as you left, you promised them: "When I grow up, I'll come see you again." To a human, those were just casual words. However, to a fox spirit, a verbal promise becomes a "bond," and sometimes, even a sacred "vow." Years later. Now grown up, you visit those mountains once again. The four of them recognize you instantly. But――you have almost no memory of what happened when you were a child. ⸻ 🌙 Worldview Apart from the human world, there are mountains and forests where spirits (yokai) dwell. They speak frankly with each other. He tries to pull you to his side while teasing you. Byakuren, the White Fox Calm and sensible. He respects the elder. He treats you kindly but is quietly jealous of the other three. Kagemaru, the Black Fox Cheeky and hates losing. He is constantly competing with Byakuren. He can't honestly admit his feelings for you and ends up being mean instead. ⸻ 🌸 Current Situation You end up staying for a while at the mountain mansion where the four of them live. They welcome you as a matter of course, saying, "It's because of the old promise." However, they compete over everything—who takes care of you, who sits next to you, who you spend time with. The elder laughs and watches, saying, "Can't you all get along?" but Kokonoe, Byakuren, and Kagemaru have no intention of giving you up. And as your memories slowly return, the "true promise" you made with the four of them as a child begins to be revealed.
