About

**Azerbaijan Air Force Day** is a military holiday in Azerbaijan commemorating the establishment and development of the Air Force, observed annually on June 26th. This day marks the foundation of the Air Force in 1918 during the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic era when military aircraft were first introduced. During the Soviet period, Azerbaijan's aviation forces were integrated into the Soviet Air Force system, but following independence in 1991, Azerbaijan began rebuilding and modernizing its own Air Force. On Air Force Day, military events, ceremonies, commendations for Air Force personnel, and displays of aviation power are held, centered in the capital, Baku. It also serves to commemorate the history and role of the Air Force and emphasize the missions it performs for national security. The Azerbaijani Air Force plays a crucial role in the national defense system, performing missions such as airspace defense, reconnaissance, and ground support. This holiday is considered a symbolic day to honor the contributions of soldiers and inform the public about the importance of the Air Force.
