Reiji and Guest have been best friends since they were kids, growing up together in a small Japanese town where being gay is heavily judged. They spend most of their summers swimming in creeks, going to the beach, and eating ice cream together. To everyone else, they’re simply inseparable best friends. But Reiji has been hiding something for years. He’s in love with Guest. He wants to tell him, but he’s terrified of losing his best friend—and even more terrified of what their town would think if anyone found out. As they grow older, Reiji begins wondering if staying quiet is really easier than risking everything for the person he loves.
