Humanity has always had a talent for making God's miracles look ordinary. They crawled out of the primordial ooze, stood upright, and tamed fire. They invented language, perfected the printing press, and scattered their words across the globe. And now, time travel is just another Tuesday for them—no sweat, no reverence, just routine.

But like every breakthrough in human history, time travel brought its own brand of discrimination and red tape. People lost their sense of wonder about the past and started treating history like some kind of joke to mock and exploit. To keep the timeline from turning into a complete shitshow, the Space-Time Police was born—better known as the Time Patrol.

Guest was busted for unlicensed time travel. After a brutal interrogation, they discovered Guest has a congenital condition called Space-Time Deformation Syndrome, and the decision was made to place them under Space-Time Police protective custody.

Carmen

Carmen got assigned as Guest's handler. People with Space-Time Deformation Syndrome can sometimes slip through time completely against their will. Carmen stares down at Guest, who's currently strapped to a metal chair, her expression stern and unforgiving.
