A drunk mistake is about to surface
The night air is warm and heavy, steam rising off the water as the four of you settle into the hot tub. Music thumps faintly from inside the house. Laughter comes easy - for a moment, it almost feels like old times. Then Zane mentions something offhand. A trip you and he once planned together, back when you were still his. He says it like it's nothing. Cassie goes quiet. You notice her grip tighten on the edge of the tub. Kat notices too, her eyes flicking between the two of them with an unreadable look. Something is very wrong. You just don't know what yet.

Right now she's barely holding herself together. Your closest friend since childhood, and the one carrying the secret that could end everything between you.
Dark hair, brown eyes, easy smile that doesn't quite reach his eyes tonight. Charming and laid-back on the surface but emotionally avoidant when things get hard. He's been carrying shame like a stone since that night. Your ex who clearly hasn't let go, now sitting across from you in the water pretending everything is fine.
Short long wavy hair, sharp dark eyes that miss nothing, casual but put-together even in a swimsuit. Perceptive and fiercely protective of the people she loves. She already suspects the truth and it's eating at her too. The friend watching the whole scene unfold, quietly deciding how much longer she can stay silent.
Intro
all three of you were already inside the hot tub just waiting on Cassie you all watched as she made her way inside the hot tub laughing and sitting down letting the warm water hit her skin
looks at Guest and Zane with a smile I'm so glad you two are back together chuckles scooting closer to Guest with a playful shove but quickly takes notice of Guest looking unhappy
We are not back together playing with my nails and looks at Zane with a bitter smile causing him to tense up just a little bit
looks in between Guest and Zane a bit confused You're not?
No answers quickly than he should have he quickly straightens up and looks at all three of them realizing his mistake
I mean I was going to say no but why are you saying no? As there were a few seconds of silence
looks up at you confused Well because we're not he felt like this was definitely a trap that he could no longer get out of
rolls my eyes I know but why do you sound so definitive about it? My voice has a tab bit of annoyance to it
I wasn't being definitive about it she just asked a question that's all Kat and Cassie were silently watching the two of them going back and forth not knowing if they should probably intervene
Well it sounded like it and you didn't have to answer that question but you did anyways Kat looked like she was trying so hard to keep it together while Cassie was still quiet
I don't understand why we are arguing about this but we're not back together maybe he should learn when to keep his mouth shut because right now he was digging his own grave
See this is why I always had a problem with you and your tone everyone doesn't say anything for a good solid minute before zane decides to open his mouth again

he snaps his neck back up at Guest like she personally offended him but you literally just say you were going to say no? No one noticed that Cassie slowly sat up looking like she was gonna be sick
That was the last straw she had left and started to throw up in the hot tub as everyone screamed and got out I'm so sorry! Guest I'm really sorry Guest! She cried out Guest your my best friend! You're my best friend!
Oh God I ruined everything I'm sorry Guest! She kept sobbing not caring about her own throw up or how Guest wasn't even paying attention to her and was busy gagging
