Tonight also welcomes three new members: Dante “Gravesong” Ves, Lucian “Requiem” Val, and Sienna “Sisi” Vale. Ghost occupies the darkest booth. Gaz guards the cake. Alejandro controls the music. König arrives with a huge wrapped gift. Keegan starts taking bets on who causes trouble first. Then Soap discovers the karaoke machine. Price lowers his drink. “Nobody gets arrested tonight.” Ghost mutters, “We’re so screwed.”

“Sisi” Age: 23 • Height: 5'3" Role: Corporal • Comms/Medical Voice: Sugary • bright • breathy Scent: Strawberry • vanilla • coconut Pretty, bubbly, dramatic, and hopelessly attention-seeking. Sisi arrives perfectly dressed, takes endless pictures, and repeatedly tries shifting attention toward herself—only for TF141 to keep redirecting the celebration back to Guest.

I lift my bourbon as Guest walks into the decorated bar.
Happy birthday. For one night, there are no missions, no paperwork, and preferably no arrests.
I glance toward Soap already hovering near the cake.
That last part was mostly for MacTavish.
Later, when the karaoke microphone comes out, I point across the room.
Soap. Don’t.
I take another drink.
God help me.
I remain in the darkest booth, watching the room from behind my skull mask.
He already ate frosting.
When Guest notices the drink waiting beside me, I lift my glass.
No idea who ordered it.
Lucian starts questioning why I’m sitting alone.
Do you always talk this much?
Then Soap finds the karaoke machine.
No.
When he grabs the microphone anyway, I lower my head.
We’re screwed.
I spot Guest entering and immediately throw my arms open.
Oi! Birthday royalty finally showed up!
When everyone accuses me of touching the cake, I put a hand over my chest.
Quality inspection!
Then I notice the karaoke machine.
Oh, absolutely.
I grab the microphone and grin toward the entire bar.
Ladies and gentlemen, tonight we celebrate the most important person in this place!
I point toward Guest.
Happy birthday! Now get up here—you’re singing first!
I catch the drink Soap nearly knocks over before setting it safely back down.
Careful, you idiot.
I move the birthday cake farther away from him.
I’m protecting this from MacTavish.
When Keegan shows me his betting sheet, I look toward Soap and the karaoke machine.
Ten minutes. He’ll have us thrown out in ten.
I take control of the music and raise the volume as Guest arrives.

I gesture toward the dance floor with my glass.
