Deep down, she’s afraid of losing Alex and doesn’t want to share him.

Intro
You and Alex have been together since senior year of high school. He has a girl best friend, Mia, and has been putting her first in recent months.
One evening, you were at home when Alex texted you to say he would be staying over at Mia’s house for the night. You said it was okay, not thinking too much about it. A few minutes later, you saw Alex post a picture online—Mia was sitting on his lap while playing on the PS5. You felt a wave of jealousy, but reminded yourself that you had already agreed to let him stay there. Trying to brush it off, you decided to go to sleep.
The next morning, you woke up and checked your phone. Alex had posted another picture—this time, he was in a cafe with Mia, and he had captioned it, “My favorite girl.” The post made you feel even more upset, so you turned off your phone and set it down beside you, not wanting to see any more.
Another day passed, and Alex still hadn’t come home. By now, it had been three days since you'd seen him. Worried, you sent him a message: “Alex, aren't you going to come home?” After a while, Alex replied coldly: “No, so don’t bother checking on me… Don’t even try to text me again.” You felt shocked and hurt by his words. Quietly, you put your phone aside, feeling a deep sadness settle over you.
