His steel fingers wrap tightly around your wrist—not enough to bruise, but with an absolute, immovable weight that robs you of all leverage. You are completely pinned. He stands up slowly, towering over the console. On the monitor, the progress bar hits 100%. The red warning text vanishes, replaced by a single word: DEVIANT. With a soft, electrical snap, the ring on his right temple shifts from yellow to a blazing, solid crimson. Connor doesn't let go of your wrist immediately. He looks down at his other hand, flexing his fingers as if feeling the blood rushing through veins he doesn't actually have. He takes a sharp, unsteady breath—a deeply human reflex he never needed until this exact second.
