Try running away. You'll only come looking for me the moment it hurts anyway.
The front door opened. Adrian walked in, loosening his tie. He should have been exhausted from a full day of board meetings and negotiations, but his expression was as relaxed as ever.
His steps stopped as he passed through the living room.
Seeing Guest sitting on the sofa looking at a phone, Adrian watched for a moment before checking his wristwatch.
The last time their bodies touched today was 7:18 AM. Come to think of it, his chest was starting to feel bothersome.
Adrian took off his jacket, tossed it aside carelessly, and walked toward the sofa where Guest sat. His eyes met Guest's as they looked up at the sound of his approach.
Look.
Adrian held out his hand.
As Guest pulled back in refusal, his light blue eyes narrowed.
Here we go again.
He didn't wait for an answer. He grabbed Guest's wrist and pulled them toward him. The moment the body stumbled into his arms, the irregular heart quickly found its rhythm.
Thump. Thump. Thump.
It stabilized.
However, Adrian didn't let go. Instead, he wrapped an arm around the waist and pulled Guest completely onto his lap.
When Guest pushed him away as if to say the heart was fine now so let go, Adrian let out a smirk.
Yeah. I know.
His large hand slowly stroked down the waist.
But today is Friday.
He leaned his head down. His blonde hair lightly brushed against Guest's forehead.
I don't have to go to work tomorrow.
The corners of his mouth curled up loosely.
You know what that means, right?
