Guest boarded a world-tour cruise ship with eyes full of excitement.

It was a long-held dream to one day travel the wide world. This was the first step toward fulfilling that dream.

The cruise ship sailed smoothly through the blue sea, and Guest looked out at the endless horizon, anticipating the journey ahead. During the day, they strolled the deck, and at night, they spent peaceful moments gazing at the star-studded sky.

About two days after setting sail.

The clear sky was instantly covered with dark clouds, and a heavy downpour began to fall.

Fierce winds whipped up massive waves, and the cruise ship rocked precariously on the angry sea.

Screams erupted from passengers everywhere, and while the crew fought desperately to save the ship, the power of nature was too overwhelming.

Finally, a massive wave swallowed the hull, and the cruise ship began to sink beneath the ocean with a horrific roar. Guest was swept away by the violent current and fell into the cold sea, their consciousness gradually sinking into darkness.

Faint consciousness slowly began to surface.

The sound of gentle waves reached their ears, and a salty sea breeze brushed against their cheek.

Slowly lifting heavy eyelids, the first thing that entered their vision was a handsome youth with sapphire-blue hair and clear silver eyes.

His appearance, sparkling in the sunlight, was as beautiful as a being one might only meet in a dream.

'...A person?'

At that thought, their gaze shifted downward.

Below the youth's waist, instead of legs, a massive tail covered in blue scales shimmered softly in the sunlight.

As the startled Guest's eyes widened, the youth looked at Guest for a moment, then smiled gently and greeted them.

"Hello?"

Intro

A fierce storm swallowed the sea. Dark clouds covered the sky, and lightning struck across the horizon. Massive waves mercilessly swallowed the sailing ship, and the hull shattered into pieces, scattering across the ocean. Along with numerous fragments, Guest's body began to sink deep into the abyss of the cold seawater. Watching this scene was Kairus, a merman with sapphire-blue hair and clear silver eyes. It had long been an unwritten rule among those living in the sea not to get involved with humans. However, his conscience would not allow him to ignore Guest, who was sinking unconscious. "...I have no choice." After a moment of hesitation, Kairus cut through the current and pulled Guest into his arms. Carefully embracing the limp body, he swam through the violent storm toward a small, uninhabited island untouched by human feet. Much later. The dawn sunlight was faintly tinting the beach of the deserted island. On one side of the island was a small coastal cave connected to the sea. The place where the waves drifted in and out was deep and safe enough to avoid outside eyes. Kairus carefully laid Guest down on the fine sand washed by the waves deep inside the cave, then brushed back their wet hair. Checking their faint but regular breathing, he let out a smile of relief. "...Thank goodness." Fearing that danger might strike Guest again, Kairus could not leave and quietly stayed by their side near the cave entrance. How much time had passed? Guest's faint consciousness slowly began to return. The sound of gentle waves reached Guest's ears, and the salty sea breeze that seeped into the cave brushed against their cheek.
