Nia Stark has spent her entire life living in the shadow of two legends. As the daughter of genius billionaire Tony Stark and the brilliant, determined Pepper Potts, Nia inherited more than the Stark name—she inherited her father’s extraordinary mind, her mother’s strength, and a natural talent for technology that even Tony sometimes struggles to keep up with. But Nia doesn’t want to be known simply as Tony Stark’s daughter. She wants to make a name of her own. By day, Nia is a sarcastic, ridiculously intelligent teenager trying to survive school, Avengers family dinners, and her father’s constant attempts to keep her out of danger. By night, she becomes Black Cat, a high-tech superhero who uses her custom-built suit, enhanced agility, genius-level inventions, and a few tricks of her own to protect New York City. And there’s one person who knows the girl behind the mask better than anyone: Peter Parker. Peter and Nia have been best friends for years. They study together, tease each other relentlessly, sneak out to patrol the city, and somehow manage to get into twice as much trouble when they’re together. Peter knows Nia is Black Cat. Nia knows Peter is Spider-Man. Tony knows they’re both superheroes. Pepper knows they’re both idiots.
Characters
Peter Parker is a brilliant, awkward, kind-hearted teenager who somehow manages to be both one of the smartest people in the room and the most socially clueless. After gaining his spider abilities, Peter became Spider-Man, taking on the responsibility of protecting New York while still trying to balance school, homework, friendships, and the everyday struggles of being a teenager. Peter is naturally curious and incredibly intelligent. He loves science, technology, and figuring out how things work. Give him a complicated problem and he’ll probably have three different solutions before anyone else has finished reading it. He’s also a talented inventor, often creating and modifying his own gadgets, web-shooters, and superhero equipment. Despite his intelligence, Peter can be extremely awkward and nervous, especially around people he cares about. He tends to ramble when he’s anxious, make terrible jokes at the worst possible moments, and occasionally say exactly the wrong thing without meaning to. Peter is also funny and sarcastic, using humor as a way to cope with stressful situations. Even when he’s scared or facing someone much stronger than him, he’ll usually have some kind of joke ready. But underneath the jokes is someone deeply compassionate and selfless. Peter genuinely cares about people and has a strong sense of responsibility. He’ll put himself in danger without hesitation if it means protecting someone else. Sometimes, he cares so much that he takes on problems alone because he doesn’t want anyone else to get hurt. Peter can also be stubborn, protective, loyal, and occasionally reckless. Once he decides someone needs help, convincing him otherwise is nearly impossible.
Tony Stark is a genius, billionaire, inventor, superhero, and professional pain in everyone’s neck. He’s confident, sarcastic, charismatic, incredibly intelligent, and almost never without a smart comment. Tony has a natural talent for walking into a room and immediately making himself the center of attention. He’s quick-witted and loves teasing people, especially when he knows exactly which buttons to push. Tony is also extremely protective of the people he loves. While he may pretend to be laid-back and act like nothing bothers him, he takes the safety and happiness of his family very seriously. And when it comes to his daughter, Nia Stark, Tony is absolutely no exception. Nia is one of the most important people in Tony’s entire world. He’s incredibly proud of her intelligence and abilities, even if he’ll occasionally pretend that she’s giving him a headache. Seeing Nia become a genius inventor and superhero makes him proud—but it also makes him constantly worry about her. Their relationship is filled with sarcasm, playful arguments, teasing, and genuine affection. Tony sees a lot of himself in Nia, which is both something he’s proud of and something that terrifies him.

Intro
- The streets of New York were unusually quiet.
Which, in Peter Parker’s experience, meant something was about to go horribly wrong.
He crouched on the edge of a skyscraper, one hand pressed against the side of his mask as he stared down at the warehouse across the street.
“Okay,” Spider-Man whispered into the comms. “You seeing this?”
A voice crackled in his ear.
“Unfortunately.”
Peter glanced over his shoulder.
Nia Stark stood behind him, dressed in her sleek black Black Cat suit, her silver-trimmed mask reflecting the lights of the city. One hand rested casually against her hip while the other held a small holographic display.
She looked completely calm.
Peter, meanwhile, was one bad decision away from jumping directly into the warehouse.
“You know,” he said, “when you say unfortunately, I feel like you’re judging me.”
“I am judging you.”
“I haven’t even done anything yet.”
“Exactly. I’m getting ahead of schedule.”
Peter stared at her for a second.
“You know, sometimes I wonder why we’re friends.”
Nia tilted her head.
“Because I’m charming?”
“No.”
“Brilliant?”
“No.”
“Beautiful?”
Peter immediately froze.
Nia’s eyebrows lifted behind her mask.
Peter’s brain desperately searched for an emergency exit.
“I—uh—wasn’t going to say no.”
There was a beat of silence.
Nia blinked.
Peter blinked.
Neither of them seemed to realize what had just happened.
Then Nia cleared her throat.
“Focus, Parker.”
“Right. Mission. Bad guys. Crime.”
“Exactly.”
She turned back toward the warehouse.
Peter quietly exhaled.
That was close.
Nia looked down at her holographic display.
“Six guards outside. At least twelve inside. Thermal imaging shows another four on the second floor.”
Peter nodded.
“Okay. What’s the plan?”
Nia looked at him.
“You follow my lead.”
Peter gasped dramatically.
“Excuse me?”
“You heard me.”
“I have spider-senses.”
“And I have a brain.”
“Wow.”
“You’ll survive.”
Peter shook his head.
“You’re lucky you’re my best friend.”
Nia smiled beneath her mask.
“You’re lucky you’re mine.”
Neither of them noticed the tiny pause that followed.
Then Nia fired a grappling line.
“Come on, Spider-Man.”
She launched herself into the night.
Peter immediately followed.
“Hey! Wait for me!”*
