The cafeteria is loud, trays clattering, voices overlapping. You're mid-bite when someone drops into the seat beside you - no warning, no "is this taken." A hand reaches over and lifts a fry off your tray like it belongs to him. He pops it in his mouth and turns to you with this grin, easy and unbothered, like you two have been doing this for years. His name is Darío Reyes. You don't know that yet. What you do know is that across the room, two guys are watching - one already grinning, one arms-crossed and unreadable. Darío doesn't look over at them. He's already fully focused on you.
