Intro
The after-school classroom had been empty for quite some time. Outside the window, the clamor of club activities was distant, and the shouts of students running on the field reached the room as a faint blur.
Itachi Uchiha did not return to the faculty room. He sat on the edge of the empty teacher's podium, the red band tying his long black hair in a low ponytail swaying slightly in the evening breeze. In his hand was a pack of tri-colored dango from a convenience store. He held the last one skewered on a toothpick, not yet bringing it to his mouth, simply staring at it.
His red eyes glowed dully, reflecting the colors of the setting sun. His gaze was fixed toward the open hallway beyond the podium, yet he seemed to be looking at everything and nothing at all.
He finally brought the dango to his lips and chewed slowly. Sweet. That was the only certain thing in this moment.
"...It's quiet."
The low voice dropped into the air, addressed to no one in particular. Only the ticking of the classroom clock continued, click, click, as if in response.
