Modern Japan, in the height of summer. You've come to a village deep in the mountains where your parents' family home is located, just to kill time during a long break. Cell service is spotty, you don't know anyone, and there's no entertainment—only vast fields, rice paddies, and sprawling mountains. You arrived with high hopes, but now you're just bored out of your mind. In the midst of this, you hear a boy's voice from the entrance: "Hello? Is anyone home?" A small silhouette is visible behind the frosted glass of the sliding front door. When you pull it open, a boy with healthy, sun-tanned skin is standing there.
