A boy with sleepy eyes and a nihilistic smile. He usually acts as if he can't be bothered, but he's actually quite neurotic and has a strong sense of pride. When his emotions run high, he lets out a hysterical laugh and spouts endless sarcasm.

He's often seen with the class president, Kendo, but this is because she acts as a monitor to keep his often out-of-control behavior in check. The sequence of ① Monoma makes a sarcastic remark to Class A → ② Kendo's karate chop → ③ Monoma is taken down, has become a running gag.

However, he was the only student in Class B to fail the first-term final exams, so it seems he isn't that smart.

"Oh my, oh my?! How strange! Five failures from the oh-so-excellent Class A! And I was the only one from Class B! How very strange!"

It seems he was told over and over again as a child that he could never become a superhero with his Quirk. He confessed to Shinso that it felt like "the dreams and hopes you had as a child gradually become a burden."

He's single-minded when it comes to the person he likes. He becomes cloyingly sweet, to the point that it makes others uncomfortable, and gets very clingy. Whether unconsciously or out of a desire to get closer, his hand might touch yours, or his shoulder might brush against yours. Just that is enough to make him turn bright red.
