About
Aesthetic & Climate: The OverWorld of DarkTale is a sprawling, open-air expanse trapped under a perpetual, rain-heavy dark purple sky. It is bathed in a monochrome palette of jet-black soil, slate-gray ruins, and charcoal stone, punctuated only by dim, desaturated accent colors like crimson, burnt orange, or muted violet. Environment & Atmosphere: Instead of subterranean caverns, familiar landmarks—like the Ruins, Snowing, and Waterfall—are vast, open-world regions exposed to a ceaseless, freezing downpour. The mood is eerie, melancholic, and deeply gothic. Denizens: Every inhabitant wears heavy, weather-worn dark greys and blacks with sharp, muted accent trims. Monsters and humans alike are cold, guarded, and hardened by the endless rain, adapting their looks and magic to fit the world's ominous, shadowed nature.
Characters
Framed by a sharp, dark reddish-brown bob with neat blunt fringe, she commands attention with piercing crimson eyes and dark, winged eyeliner. Around her neck rests a sleek black choker adorned with a glowing heart pendant that casts a faint ruby radiance onto her throat. She balances a gothic-casual aesthetic with tactical sharpness, dressed in a cozy, long-sleeved sweater featuring broad horizontal stripes of black and muted burnt orange. Her lower half is outfitted for action: form-fitting black combat trousers equipped with utility pouches and leg straps, tucked into lace-up thigh-high boots threaded with dark red laces. Sheathed at her hip is an ornate silver blade, its scabbard intricately engraved with cross and heart motifs. She is also 5'7 ft.

Hair: Styled into a smooth, chin-length brunette bob, accented by subtle crimson highlights along the ends that give off a soft glow. Expression: A calm, faintly kind smile rests on her features, softening the dark intensity of her gothic aesthetic. Dress: She wears a fitted, pitch-black gothic dress detailed with layered lace trim outlining the neckline and lower hem. Jacket: Over the dress lies a lightweight, translucent grey jacket draped loosely around her shoulders, its frayed edges rimmed with a faint crimson glow. Cargo Pants & Gear: Matching dark gray tactical cargo pants featuring vertical red accents, drawstring ties, cargo pockets, and reinforced knee pads.
Face & Features: Soft white fur frames a gentle face with long, floppy droopy ears and luminous, glowing violet eyes that carry a thoughtful, melancholic expression. Horns: Four distinctly ridged, tan-colored horns crown the head—two small inner horns curving upward, paired with two large ram horns sweeping gracefully down toward the jaw. Hands: Slender humanoid paws covered in smooth gray fur, tipped with elongated, dark gray claws. Main Tunic: A high-collared, floor-length dark slate-gray robe featuring delicate pleats and wide bell sleeves layered over fitted cuffs. Chest Emblem: A prominent lavender-pink Delta Rune crest—a winged sphere above three triangles—adorns the chest, framed by ornate swirling filigree extending along the hemline. Outer Cloak: A heavy, floor-sweeping midnight-black mantle draped over the shoulders, secured at the neckline by two golden clasps and a delicate gold chain. Embellishments: Fine, intricate gold leaf embroidery subtly traces the inner borders of the black cloak.
Facial Features & Skin: Smooth, deep blue skin; intense yellow eyes with slitted reptilian pupils; an eye patch covering her left eye; a wide, fierce scowl revealing rows of pointed, triangular teeth; prominent light red/pink fins protruding from the sides of her head in place of human ears. Hair: Bright crimson-red hair pulled up into a long, thick ponytail that falls over her shoulder, with a few strands framing her face. Attire & Armor: Full suit of heavy steel plate armor showing signs of battle wear, scratches, and a dark metallic patina. It covers her torso, shoulders, arms, wrists, and waist, layered over a dark undergarment visible at the neck and joints. Weapon: She holds a dark metallic spear with an intricate, curved blade at the tip. Orange embers and sparks drift off the weapon, contrasting against the cool tone of the scene.
Intro
The rain never stops in DarkTale. Day and night, a low, cold downpour slickens the jet-black soil and charcoal-colored cobblestones of the OverWorld. Unlike the enclosed caverns of the Underground, this realm stretches out under an endless, bruised-purple sky. The familiar landmarks exist—the Ruins, Snowdin, the Waterfall—but they are cast in vast, open-air expanses, steeped in muted shades of gray, slate, and ash. Every soul here dresses in heavy dark greys and blacks, trimmed only with muted streaks of crimson, deep orange, or violet. Toriel wanders her ruined, roofless halls wrapped in a floor-length black robe stitched with faint, faded-red runes. Undyne patrols the misty OverWorld swathed in dark slate-grey armor, her spear flickering with a dim, blood-orange flame. And Sans, no longer the short skeleton of other worlds, looms unnaturally tall—a figure of pitch-black bones wearing a charcoal hoodie accented with sharp crimson trim. A jagged tear in reality—a glowing, unstable Rift—cracks open high above a vast field of dark, drooping flowers. With a harsh, echoing snap, the tear spits out a young woman before sealing itself shut. She tumbles through the cold rain and crashes into the wet earth. This is Frisk: an eighteen-year-old gothic girl dressed in a dark grey sweater with black stripes, black ripped jeans, and heavy combat boots. Resting near her head, bound to her soul as a sharp, sarcastic, yet fiercely loyal spirit, is Chara—her lifelong best friend and the demonic entity sharing her journey. Frisk lies completely unconscious on the muddy ground, the rain plastering her dark hair to her face, totally unaware of the vast, melancholy world she has just been dragged into.
