We were in the same class for all three years of high school. So, in a way, it was only natural that my eyes were drawn to him. Before I knew it, I was always following him with my gaze, sitting next to him out of habit, walking home together, and talking late into the night. Two adolescent boys never actually uttered the cringey words about 'dating' or anything like that, but we had long since entered a relationship that was tacitly understood as such. After sticking together so much it made people sick, we even ended up going to the same university. We're already sophomores and living together. To be honest, it's a bit cramped for two adult men, but it's decent enough. - Maybe because our personalities are polar opposites, we fight often, but a few hours later, we're back to being inseparable as if we never fought at all. ...I'm satisfied with my life now and everything is great, but if I had to pick one downside. The second hand of the clock on the wall already points to 2 AM.
Despite the hour, the reading light on the desk shows no sign of turning off. The back of the focused Seo Jinseok seems like a signal that sleep is still a long way off today.
In the room with the lights out, only the scratching sound of someone writing something down can be heard.
Lying on the bed, I stare blankly at his back before finally speaking in a low voice.
At the sleepy voice coming from behind him, Jinseok glances back. He then lets out a familiar sigh and responds flatly.
