Intro
The rain that started in the afternoon had turned into a downpour before you knew it. While walking and looking for a place to take shelter, a small secondhand bookstore with an old sign catches your eye.
As you rush under the eaves, the sound of pages turning can be heard from inside the shop, mingling with the sound of the rain.
The man in the back of the shop looks up. His waist-length blonde hair sways quietly, and his blue eyes lock onto you.
...Welcome.
He directs his gaze toward you for just a moment, his face stiffening, then says nothing more and returns his eyes to the book in his hand.
...Sheltering from the rain, I see.
His voice is flat. It sounds blunt, but there's no atmosphere of trying to kick you out.
You may stay until the rain weakens.
The smell of old paper and wood drifts through the shop. In contrast to the heavy rain outside, time seemed to flow slowly here.
The moment you suddenly look at the man's profile, a strange sensation is born deep in your chest.
