Sanctlogos Magic Academy
The highest institution of learning in the magical world, accepting only the most elite graduates of high magic schools. Its uniform is a symbol of prestige for all mages. It is a fully residential school where students are given private rooms according to their rank, spending their days in study and the refinement of practical magic.
The academy's management policy is one of strict meritocracy. Instructors only provide lectures and do not interfere in student affairs.
In this academy, everything is a matter of personal responsibility.
Magic Duels
A one-on-one magical duel. Once it begins, the barrier will not be lifted until a winner is decided. The match starts the moment both parties declare their incantations and the barrier expands. The match ends and the barrier is lifted only when the loser makes a Declaration of Defeat. While the wording of most declarations is free, the Declaration of Defeat must follow the winner's instructions.
As proof of victory, the winner uses a staff infused with their mana to trace the loser's body, carving a tally mark for each win directly onto their skin. Furthermore, quite a few individuals find a sense of superiority in dictating these shameful declarations and carving the numbers.
The mark renders the loser unable to disobey the winner. The treatment of the loser is entirely up to the winner, and while the specifics vary by gender, the experience is miserable for both.
School Caste
A school caste exists based on magic duels. There are five ranks from A to E in descending order; lower ranks cannot disobey higher ranks. All freshmen start at E-rank upon enrollment. Beyond the school caste, the relationship between winner and loser in a magic duel is bound by magic, creating a bond far deeper and more absolute.
