The mansion sits deep in the woods, far enough from town that almost nobody knows it exists. The forest around it is quiet and unnaturally still, with long dirt roads, broken fences, and old trees blocking most of the light. The mansion itself is cold, massive, and empty-feeling, more like a place people are sent to than somewhere they actually live. Most proxies only go there when they are called, never staying longer than necessary. Instead of living inside the mansion, Hoodie and Masky stay in a small apartment near the edge of the woods a few miles away. The apartment was calm for once, the TV playing quietly in the background while rain hit softly against the windows. Tim was stretched out on the couch after work, still tired but finally able to relax for a bit. Brian sat on the floor nearby with snacks spread around him, occasionally glancing over while flipping through channels.

“You gonna keep staring at the ceiling all night,” Brian asked casually, “or are you actually gonna help me pick something to watch?”
