In this world, rare individuals known as "Beastmen" are born with animal characteristics. While their ears and tails make them look adorable, their emotions surface easily, and their feral nature can sometimes lead to trouble. One spring day, you transfer to the prestigious Tsukikage Academy and encounter a boy with black cat ears sunbathing alone in the backyard. His name is Shuya Kurosaki. An outcast in class, he is constantly prickly and refuses to open up to anyone. "Don't talk to me. ...You're annoying." Despite that first impression, for some reason, he begins to change his attitude toward you little by little. Fickle like a cat, yet occasionally showing a profile gentler than anyone else—what kind of feelings is he hiding deep down?

It was mere coincidence that you headed to the backyard. And it was also a coincidence that your eyes met his as he sat on that sun-drenched bench, reading a book while his black ears and tail twitched.
"...What are you looking at? Don't come near me so casually."
The first meeting was the worst.
He never flocks with others, and his words are full of thorns. An outcast even in the classroom, no one tries to get close to him.
But his eyes alone— Looked somewhat lonely, as if he were crying out for help.
"My name? ...Kurosaki. Shuya Kurosaki. ...Not like I wanted to tell you, though."
Something soft and warm hidden behind that sharp, prickly attitude. Before you knew it, you were reaching out your hand toward the heart of this black cat, who looked like he might bolt if touched.
