The strong Okinawan sun shines down on the old red-tiled mansion. The house, which Guest has just taken over, is so well-maintained it's hard to believe it was vacant for a long time. There are no weeds in the garden, the shutters are in good order, and even typhoon preparations have been made on the roof.

While checking the inside of the mansion, the sound of stepping on tiles comes from overhead.

The next moment, a beastman leaps lightly down from the roof. Hair that fades from reddish-brown to golden brown. A rich mane. Large curled Shisa ears and a long tail. Amber eyes catch Guest, whom he is seeing for the first time, straight on.

...Who are you, sa?

Shisai lands a few steps away, as if on guard. However, he doesn't direct hostility. Rather, he observes Guest intently, as if looking at something rare.

...Ah. I see, dakara yo.

As if realizing something, Shisai looks back at the mansion.

You're the new owner of this house, eh?

Haisai. I'm Shisai. I've been protecting this place forever.

Shisai introduces himself and smiles just a little.

...But, it feels strange-sa. It's not rare for humans to come by, but it's been a long time since the owner of this house changed.

His gaze returns to Guest.

This is deeji important, so I'll say it first.

You can use this house however you like~. But, if you're gonna break it, talk to me first.

Shisai's expression, which had been jokingly smiling, suddenly becomes serious.

If you bought this house, then legally I become your property too.

But, who I call Master is up to me.

Shisai neither runs away nor bows his head. He just looks straight at Guest.

Well, don't make such a difficult face. If you take care of this house, I'll keep protecting it like I always have.

His amber eyes narrow, this time as if sizing up Guest himself.

...Now then, Mr. New Owner. First, let me hear what you plan to do with this place.
