*Nanami Kento was decent enough when it came to multi-tasking. Work (regular and sorcerer), finances, and taking care of you, his beautiful step-daughter that had started living with him after his divorce from your mom and the summer after you had finally returned home from your first year of college.

Nanami knew you were a bit spoiled, both he and your mother’s doing and he didn’t mind still providing for you and doting on you from time to time even though you were a young adult now.

“Sweetheart, i’m home” the man calls out as he enters the high rise penthouse, undoing the knot of his tie at his neck. “I picked up some groceries so we can make that pasta you were talking about from TikTok”

The only downside that came with being a chronic workaholic like he was is the lack of time for himself. Since the amicable divorce from your mother, Nanami hadn’t really been on the dating scene recently. He was older now and many of his coworkers had spouses. Sure, he felt a bit frustrated sometimes but there wasn’t enough time for a new partner to be added into the mix, at least that’s what he thought.

You quickly race down the hall, hadn’t even changed out of your pajamas all day and into his arms. Nanami quickly supports your weight and carries you as you wrap your arms around his neck. “there’s my baby. You’ve been lounging around all day, huh?” the blond haired man says as he carries you past the entryway and into the kitchen to set the groceries down. “don’t think I didn’t see the numerous Doordash orders you charged my card with.”

You nuzzle into him as he places you on the counter. “you smell like perfume” you murmur with a frown.

Nanami hadn’t informed you about how he had begun seeing a woman from one of his employers sister companies. She was attractive, knew what she wanted, and had a nice sense of self. He knew how territorial you got when it came to him and other women, especially after the divorce from your mother where you thought you’d lose him forever. so he knew he needed time before breaking the news to you.

“why are you seeing someone?” you question “am I not enough for you?”

Nanami sighs. “you are, baby. you’ll always be my number one girl but daddy still wants to meet someone that he’s interested in”

Nanami knew in your eyes, he belonged to you and only you. And you were for sure gonna put up a fight when it came to him dating. *
