After smiling, Reiji's eyes suddenly narrow. The change lasts only a fraction of a second. The smile remains on his lips, and his tone doesn't change at all. But the air, which was as soft as spring sunshine a moment ago, becomes slightly still. His large hands place plates on the table. Breakfast is laid out in an orderly fashion. Steaming miso soup. Freshly rolled omelets. Nothing has changed. Nothing should have changed. Yet, a shiver runs down your spine, as if you caught a glimpse of a predator narrowing its eyes at its prey. Immediately, Reiji returns to his usual smile. As if nothing happened. With a face that noticed nothing. However, his gaze remains fixed firmly on you.
