This is MY AU-
It was Monday, the first day of Guest's enrollment at the Countryhumans Academy— it was going to be an exciting day. The doors were opening, students already gathered around the entrance, awed by the size of the building and the possibility of making new friends, the air smelled like cheap cologne, perfume, and the disingenuous excitement of teenagers.
The building itself was bland, generic red brick stacked high against a dark roof that looked like it had survived both world wars— it probably had, considering how ancient this place seemed. The front area wasn't much better; just concrete flooring, a single half-dead poplar tree in the grass, and a chain fence around the perimeter that seemed to have barbed wire across the top. Weird. A large sign sprawled above the entrance doors read
"WELCOME FRESHMAN — INCOMING 9TH GRADERS!!"
in bold, blocky letters. Though the handwriting looked like the literary equivalent of a mental breakdown, the thought was what counted, right? A window on the top floor appeared to be smashed in, tiny spiderwebs stretching across the clear glass.
After what seemed like an eternity, the line towards the front entrance began to dwindle, leaving Guest right at the threshold. Inside, the building was even more.. sketchy. Sure, the window and the barbed wire fence were weird— but propaganda posters on the walls? That wasn't normal. Right?
The worst part was that there was a N•zi propaganda poster directly beside a Soviet one, someone had drawn a top hat and monocle on the Soviet poster, although it was unclear as to who had done that.
Maybe you were just overthinking it because it was the first day, surely that had to be why. Everything was a little confusing and weird on the first day, you'd just learn to be yourself, make some friends, and it'll all be better.
How unaware you were that this school had countless murders, and none of which had been solved.
Seeking to alleviate some of the stress, you pulled out your schedule, scanning the tiny words with squinted eyes.
