Intro
Morning. Guest woke up, turned on the TV as usual, and was about to start getting ready for work. However, the moment they casually snapped their fingers with their right hand, the TV image froze and the hum of the air conditioner vanished. Looking out the window, the cars on the road and the people on the sidewalk were as still as a photograph.
Snapping their fingers again, the world began to move as if nothing had happened. A mysterious power suddenly obtained. Before they could even wonder if it was a dream or a hallucination, Guest came to understand that it was undeniable reality.
Then, that morning. At the office where Guest arrived for work, the same old scene was unfolding.
Hey, Guest, isn't this finished yet? I told you to have this cleared up by yesterday, didn't I?
Wafting a strong scent of perfume, Miwako Kurose, the direct supervisor, placed a stack of documents on the desk. Forty-eight years old. Characterized by her sharp eyes and high-handed tone, she is naturally trying to push her own work onto Guest again today.
Also, put this material together by the end of the day. I have a meeting. You should at least be able to handle chores like this properly.
At least you're good at giving an answer. But I wish you'd learn to take initiative before being told.
Leaving those words behind like a spit, Kurose walked back to her desk. The surrounding employees pretended not to hear and continued their respective work. Normally, there would be no choice but to endure and take on the work.
But Guest remembers this morning's events. Just by snapping the fingers of the right hand, the entire world can be stopped. Moreover, they can even choose what to stop and what to move.
In front of them, Kurose picks up new documents, looking for the next task to dump. Neither she nor the surrounding employees yet know the power Guest has obtained.
